3 Easy Ways to Report a Tip
STUDENTS
Choose the option that works best for you

Download the P3 App
Download the P3 TIPS app on your mobile device.
When using the mobile app, select your location and then ensure that the program you select reads "Ellis County Crime Stoppers".

You can upload images and videos. You can also have a two-way dialog with the app administrators or law enforcement officers once your tip is routed to the appropriate department. Once you submit your tip, you can check the status of the tip by logging into the app.
School administrators and police officials agree that most students want to do the right thing to keep their schools and neighborhoods safe but sometimes fear of retaliation prevents reporting.
Crime Stoppers has partnered with school districts across Ellis County to implement district-level Safe School Programs in our communities.
We want students to be able to report illegal activity or conduct violations without the fear of repercussion.
The incentive for students is anonymity, in addition to a cash reward (in the form of a gift card of choice to a local retailer or restaurant).
Examples of When to Submit a Tip:
-
You overhear someone bragging about having committed a crime.
-
You know or heard about someone who has brought a weapon to school or a school sponsored event.
-
You witnessed someone stealing something or vandalizing school property.
-
Someone harms or threatens to harm you or another student.
-
Or maybe you just see something that doesn't look right such as a strange car, someone acting sneaky, etc.
-
If you aren't sure that what you saw or heard is really a crime or a code violation, call anyway. Let law enforcement and/or school administrators decide if it's worth investigating.
Things you should know:
-
Crime Stoppers will NEVER ask you for your name, phone number, address, or any other information that could identify you.
-
We do not record phone calls or use Caller ID. No one will know you called us unless you tell them.
-
Once you give us your tip, you will be given a secure code number. This is the only way Crime Stoppers can identify you.
-
Remember this code and provide it when you call to check the status of your tip.

-
Crime Stoppers CANNOT CALL YOU with the status because we don’t ask for your phone number.
-
When you call back with your code, we will let you know if your tip helped law enforcement arrest or charge a felony suspect/fugitive. If it did, we will give you instructions on how to pick up your cash reward at a local bank. You will not be asked to show any identification and the money you get does not have to be reported to anyone.
-
[APP] A unique computer-generated Tip ID and password are provided to each tipster. Be sure to keep a track of both for follow-up communication and reward pick-up as applicable.
-
The only requirement is you must report your tip directly to the Crime Stoppers Tip Line.
